I have not been updating my blog. So Sorry! Now I'm going to fill your inbox with blog posts.
The week of May 18 was Spirit Week, with all the accompanying hooha that goes along with that.

Look who showed up - the Principal and Vice Principal. The Principal has on the black wig. |

Jett and Shon's hair was a little too short to be wacky. I didn't know Avin's hair was so long. It's really curly and looks much shorter. |
Wednesday was Wacky Hair Day. I don't have a picture of my lovely hair-do, but for some reason, the kids did not think it was most beautiful.

Friday was International Day. Our school has 30 different nationalities represented between teachers and students. The three nationalities with the most students are Kazakh, American and Korean. LG has a large presence here. We also hosted 17 embassies. They had booths and gave away food, souvenirs and some games. I very much enjoy being part of an international community.

A dancer from Malaysia. And yes, my national costume includes running shoes. |

Students were encouraged to wear their home country's dress. We marched in a flag parade in the rain around the soccer field.
Saturday was a 5k and 10k fun run in Presidential Park. I walked the 5k. It was a beautiful clear day. One of my students got first place for the elementary age group. Go, Salim! Afterwards, some of the other teachers and I went to a Korean fast food restaurant. So disappointing. No banchan (side dishes), not even kimchi!
I love the Wacky Hair Day pics!
ReplyDeleteHow can they call it a "Korean" restaurant with no kimchi or banchan.
